Job Overview

A law firm based in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney with hands-on experience in criminal defense. The position offers the opportunity to shape defense strategies from inception through resolution, working closely with clients and courtroom personnel to ensure optimal outcomes.

Duties

• Deliver legal guidance to clients regarding criminal matters and procedural options

• Draft, review, and revise motions and other case-related legal documentation

• Appear in court for pretrial hearings, trials, and other proceedings

• Conduct in-depth legal research and assess case law to inform defense strategies

• Interview witnesses, consult experts, and collect supporting evidence for client defense

• Interpret and evaluate legal precedents to anticipate case developments

• Coordinate with legal assistants and fellow attorneys on shared case goals

• Keep clients informed and advised following court appearances and key case milestones

• Prepare clients for depositions and collaborate on case goals and timelines

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years practicing criminal defense law

• Experience with criminal cases at the state, local, and federal levels

• Demonstrated ability to manage full case lifecycle from intake through verdict or settlement

• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, collaborative legal environment

• Strong advocacy and legal writing skills

• Spanish/English bilingual fluency is a plus

• Open to case collaboration and contributing to broader team success

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

• Active license to practice law in the state of Nevada

Certifications

• Nevada Bar Admission in good standing
