Job Overview
A law firm is seeking a Senior Discovery Attorney with 5 to 7 years of experience to join its team. This role will involve advising and supporting case teams and clients through all discovery phases of litigation, including preservation, production, pre-litigation information governance, and post-production deposition/witness preparation. The ideal candidate will be able to craft and manage case-specific workflows for eDiscovery, ensuring risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility while identifying the necessary information to drive successful outcomes. The Senior Discovery Attorney will also oversee the work of other Discovery Attorneys, Project Attorneys, technologists, and service providers.

Duties

  • Advise and support case teams and clients through all phases of eDiscovery, from preservation to production.

  • Assist in pre-litigation information governance and post-production deposition/witness preparation.

  • Collaborate with attorneys, technologists, and clients to develop and manage eDiscovery workflows tailored to each case.

  • Focus on mitigating risk, controlling costs, and ensuring defensibility throughout the eDiscovery process.

  • Oversee and ensure the quality, accuracy, and efficiency of work and deliverables for Discovery Attorneys, Project Attorneys, and other service providers.

  • Manage and coordinate efforts across multiple teams to ensure consistency in discovery practices.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in eDiscovery or related legal practice.

  • In-depth knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Ability to communicate complex legal and technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with corporate messaging, collaboration, and productivity tools, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

  • Strong expertise in using Relativity is preferred.

  • Must be licensed and in good standing in the state of practice.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Relevant certifications in eDiscovery or related fields are preferred.

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of the eDiscovery lifecycle, including preservation, collection, review, and production.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technologists and other legal professionals.

  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high-quality work.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
