Job Overview:

A prominent law firm is seeking a driven and enthusiastic Associate Attorney with 0-3 years of legal experience for their office in Las Vegas, Nevada. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on complex civil litigation cases, including construction law, bad-faith insurance claims, and personal injury defense. The ideal candidate will be motivated to learn litigation from the initial complaint through to verdict, providing hands-on legal support while gaining valuable courtroom experience.

Duties:

  • Evaluate cases and provide recommendations for further legal action.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Manage the discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft memoranda, motions, complaints, and other necessary pleadings.
  • Prepare for, take, and defend depositions.
  • Attend court hearings and represent clients during mediation.
  • Deliver high-quality legal services and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements:

  • Active membership and good standing with the Nevada State Bar.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and time management abilities.
  • General familiarity with court procedures, e-filing systems, and legal software such as Word, Excel, IManage, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Nevada.

Certifications:

  • Membership in the Nevada State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research and drafting.
  • Familiarity with litigation processes, including discovery, motions, and court procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using legal tools and software.
