Job Title: Senior Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate with 17 years of experience in commercial litigation to join its Commercial Litigation practice group in the New York office. The ideal candidate will be ready to assume significant responsibility in managing cases, and interacting with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts. Candidates with judicial clerkship experience are preferred. Strong writing, analytical skills, and excellent academic credentials are required for this role.

Location:

• New York City, NY

Duties:

•  Manage commercial litigation matters, taking on significant responsibility for case management.
• Act as a front-facing representative in client meetings, communication with opposing counsel, and court proceedings.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation documents.
• Prepare and present legal arguments in court and before arbitrators.
• Conduct legal research and provide well-reasoned analyses.
• Assist in trial preparation and strategy development.
• Handle client interactions and develop strong relationships with clients.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff in all aspects of litigation.

Requirements:

• 17 years of strong commercial litigation experience.
• Judicial Clerkship experience is preferred.
• Active and in good standing with the New York State Bar.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school.
• Ability to assume responsibility for matters with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• New York State Bar membership is required (must be active and in good standing).

Skills:

• Legal research and analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong drafting skills, including pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Client relationship management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
