Job Overview:

A law firm based in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Mid-level Environmental and Natural Resources Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in environmental law and a strong background in handling issues related to soil and groundwater contamination, water quality, air quality, and climate change. The attorney will support senior attorneys and handle various litigation and compliance matters.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on environmental and natural resources issues.
  • Perform preliminary case investigations and evaluations.
  • Participate in environmental litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and motions.
  • Guide on compliance issues and regulatory requirements related to environmental laws.
  • Conduct due diligence for real estate transactions involving environmental concerns.
  • Support senior attorneys in preparing cases and legal strategies.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience with environmental and natural resources issues, including familiarity with statutes, regulations, and common law related to soil and groundwater contamination, water quality, air quality, and climate change.
  • Membership in the Washington State Bar is required.
  • A California State Bar license is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar.
  • A California State Bar license is preferred.
