Associate Attorney Family Law, Civil Litigation & Probate

Duties:

• Assist in handling family law, civil litigation, and probate cases.
• Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Conduct legal research to support case strategies and develop client solutions.
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and legal advice.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and paralegals within the firm to manage cases.
• Manage case documentation and ensure all filings meet deadlines.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards in all interactions.

Requirements:

• A newly licensed attorney or attorney with up to 2 years of legal experience.
• Illinois or Iowa law license required; dual licensure is a strong advantage.
• Ability to obtain licensure in the other state within 6 months.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive approach to handling a caseload and client relationships.
• Willingness to collaborate within a team setting.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Illinois or Iowa state bar membership (required).
• Dual licensure (preferred).
