A law firm seeks a skilled Civil Litigation Defense Attorney to join its team in Boston, MA. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney with at least one year of experience in Massachusetts state and federal courts, specializing in various areas of civil defense litigation. The ideal candidate will have strong research and writing skills, and a desire for hands-on litigation experience, including bench and trial work. Duties:

  • Represent clients in civil defense litigation across multiple practice areas, including construction, general liability, premises liability, medical malpractice, and more.
  • Handle cases from inception through trial, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
  • Conduct legal research and provide clear, effective written and oral legal analysis.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop case strategies and ensure thorough case preparation.
  • Manage case files and client communications to ensure efficient and effective legal service.
  • Represent clients in Massachusetts state and federal courts.
  • Attend court hearings and trials to advocate for clients.

Requirements:

  • Must be admitted to practice as an attorney in the State of Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of one year of prior experience in Massachusetts state and federal courts.
  • Exceptional research and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Desire to gain bench and trial experience.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Massachusetts state bar license in good standing.
