A law firm seeks a Senior Associate Attorney with expertise in construction defect litigation and bodily injury matters. This full-time position is available for candidates in Colorado, with a hybrid work schedule. The successful candidate will be tasked with handling a range of legal responsibilities, including legal research, drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and providing support for settlements and court hearings. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience and possess strong analytical, communication, and legal drafting skills.

Duties:

  • Manage construction defect and bodily injury litigation cases from inception through resolution.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, depositions, and letters related to construction litigation.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into construction defects, collaborating with experts (engineers, architects) and documenting findings.
  • Oversee the discovery process, reviewing and gathering technical evidence from opposing parties.
  • Assist in negotiating settlements with opposing parties and insurance companies to resolve disputes.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients, providing updates and advising on strategic decisions.
  • Prepare reports and communications to ensure appropriate remedies, including financial compensation or repairs, are secured for clients.
  • Support Partners in court hearings, trials, and arbitration, including preparing evidence and legal arguments.
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulations, safeguarding client interests and firm policies throughout the litigation process.
  • Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality work.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of the Colorado Bar, with the ability to practice law in Colorado.
  • 5-7 years of experience in construction defects, bodily injury litigation, and general legal knowledge.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.

Education:

  • Doctorate degree in law (Juris Doctor, JD).

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Colorado.

Skills:

  • Expertise in construction defect litigation and bodily injury law.
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage discovery and complex legal documents.
