A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Casualty Associate Attorney with 2+ years of litigation experience, preferably in areas such as professional liability, medical malpractice, premises liability, employment, and general casualty defense. The candidate should possess an active license to practice law in Illinois and be a member in good standing with the State Bar.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle all aspects of litigation cases from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and responses.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members.
  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues and provide practical solutions to clients.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and legal analysis.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple deadlines and tasks efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in Illinois and member in good standing with the State Bar.
  • 2+ years of litigation experience, preferably in casualty defense or related areas.
  • Experience in professional liability, medical malpractice, premises liability, employment law, or general casualty defense is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to advocate effectively in court.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage a high caseload independently.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar.
