Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel on various employee benefits matters, including ERISA compliance, plan administration, and fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Draft and review employee benefits documents such as plan amendments, summary plan descriptions, and participant communications.
  • Assist clients in navigating regulatory requirements under ACA and other applicable laws affecting employee benefits.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on developments in employee benefits law.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for admission by waiver.
  • 2-4 years of experience practicing employee benefits law, focusing on ERISA and qualified plans.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions or restructuring involving employee benefits issues.
  • Strong understanding of health and welfare plans, including COBRA, HIPAA, and other relevant regulations.
