The successful candidate will represent trustees, executors, heirs, and beneficiaries managing probate and trust administrations. This role involves counseling clients on estate plans, gifting strategies, and drafting the necessary documents to implement such plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent trustees, executors, heirs, and beneficiaries in probate and trust administration matters.
  • Counsel clients on the most suitable estate plans and gifting strategies based on their situations.
  • Draft legal documents necessary to implement estate plans, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
  • Provide expert advice on estate and income tax planning, including strategies for high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Handle business and entity formation and real estate and business transactions as they relate to estate planning.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals to ensure comprehensive estate planning solutions.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in estate planning and probate administration.

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • L.L.M. in Taxation preferred.
  • 2-5 years of substantial experience in probate, trust administration, and estate and income tax planning.
  • Proven experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families in designing and drafting sophisticated estate and lifetime gifting plans.
  • Knowledge of business and entity formation, real estate, and business transactions preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Master of Laws (L.L.M.) in Taxation preferred.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
  • Additional certifications in estate planning or tax law are a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in drafting complex legal documents and advising clients on estate planning matters.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and projects efficiently.
