A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Family Law and Estate Planning Attorney to join its team in Albuquerque, NM. The ideal candidate will represent clients in family law, probate, and estate planning matters. Duties:

  • Represent clients in family law, probate, and estate planning cases.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents including contracts, briefs, motions, and other legal filings.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.
  • Advise clients and provide legal counsel in complex matters.
  • Participate in negotiations and work towards favorable settlements.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records for all cases.
  • Supervise paralegals and administrative assistants, ensuring efficient case management.
  • Attend legal proceedings such as hearings and trials when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in family law, probate, or estate planning.
  • Trial experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid bar license to practice law in the state of New Mexico.
  • Ability to reliably commute to the office.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • An active member of the New Mexico State Bar or ability to become a member upon hire.

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to advocate effectively for clients.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite for document preparation and communication.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
