Job Overview:
A law firm located in Philadelphia is actively seeking a talented Associate Attorney for their expanding Labor & Employment practice. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious attorney with at least one year of experience in litigation. The successful candidate will work closely with seasoned professionals, gaining valuable legal experience while handling complex cases in the insurance defense field. The role offers professional growth, the chance to engage with clients, and autonomy in managing cases.

Duties:

• Conduct in-depth legal research and analyze complex legal and factual issues.
• Develop defense strategies and independently present them on behalf of clients.
• Draft and file pleadings, discovery documents, depositions (expert/fact), motions, and legal briefs.
• Provide timely, accurate legal advice and counsel to clients and claims personnel.
• Communicate with the court, opposing counsel, witnesses, and co-counsel as required.
• Efficiently manage and dispose of assigned cases, ensuring all deadlines and procedural requirements are met.
• Prepare and present witnesses and evidence at trials, hearings, arbitrations, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

Requirements:

• J.D. and valid Bar admission in Pennsylvania; additional admissions in NJ or DE are a plus.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in insurance defense or similar litigation practice.
• Demonstrated experience in taking and defending depositions, filing discovery, and arguing motions.
• Proven ability to manage case files efficiently and effectively.
• Excellent written communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to client service.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania; additional state certifications are a plus.
