Job Overview: A well-established law firm in Baton Rouge, LA, is seeking a lateral attorney with a strong litigation background and a focus on employment law to join its legal team. The ideal candidate will have several years of active courtroom experience and a solid understanding of employment law matters, providing valuable legal counsel and representation to clients.

Duties:

• Represent clients in employment law matters, including disputes related to workplace rights, discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination.
• Conduct legal research, prepare case strategies, and draft legal documents such as briefs, motions, and pleadings.
• Advise clients on legal compliance with employment regulations and best practices.
• Appear in court and before administrative agencies on behalf of clients for hearings and trials.
• Collaborate with colleagues and legal teams to provide comprehensive representation.
• Engage in negotiation and mediation to resolve disputes outside of court when necessary.

Requirements:

• 5-10 years of active litigation experience.
• Previous experience in employment law preferred, with a solid understanding of federal and state employment regulations.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in the state of Louisiana, or eligibility to become licensed.

Certifications:

• Membership in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar.
