Job Overview

A prominent law firm based in Boca Raton, FL, seeks a dedicated attorney to join its Institutional Response Group. This role involves addressing complex issues related to Title IX, civil rights, and regulatory compliance. The attorney will collaborate with diverse institutions to provide legal support, policy guidance, and investigative services.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough investigations related to Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, and civil rights or criminal laws addressing:
    • Sexual and gender-based harassment and violence
    • Protected class discrimination or harassment
    • Child or elder abuse
  • Assist institutions or agencies in implementing trauma-informed, equitable prevention and resolution processes.
  • Develop and review policies, procedures, and educational materials.
  • Advise on regulatory compliance, including Title IX, the Clery Act, and child protection frameworks.
  • Provide training and guidance to institutions on risk mitigation and governance.
  • Work closely with diverse clients such as colleges, universities, K-12 schools, corporations, hospitals, and not-for-profit organizations.
  • Collaborate on safety and security matters, compliance systems, and misconduct investigations.
  • Ensure all recommendations and actions are fair, impartial, and compliant with current legal standards.
  • Travel as needed to meet client and case requirements.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in:
    • Investigating claims related to civil rights or criminal laws.
    • Addressing institutional responses to harassment, discrimination, and violence.
  • Expertise in Title IX, the Clery Act, and child protection regulations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Leadership experience and exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • High motivation and ability to manage complex cases.

Education

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Must hold an active law license in the state of Florida.
