Duties:

• Provide clear explanations of immigration concepts and devise strategic solutions for clients.
• Represent clients, both non-detained and detained, in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage and oversee a caseload, ensuring all legal matters are progressing effectively.
• Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers.
• Prepare and file immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review and revise immigration packets as necessary, ensuring all documents are accurate and complete.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations regarding updates in immigration law.
• Conduct consultations with potential clients to assess their immigration needs and develop effective strategies.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances and USCIS testimony.
• Analyze legal cases to determine possible benefits for clients.
• Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration matters.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active CA Bar admission (candidates awaiting Bar results may be considered).
• Demonstrated interest in immigration law, ideally through academic clinics, internships, or volunteer work.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload and progress legal cases efficiently.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on client interaction and collaboration.
• Ability to work well as part of a team, offering support and assistance to colleagues.
• Preferred bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Familiarity with case management software is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active CA Bar admission (or pending admission).
