A law firm in Sacramento is seeking an experienced eDiscovery Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) and have substantial experience managing all phases of the eDiscovery process. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. The eDiscovery Attorney will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, develop and implement project plans, and leverage AI technology to enhance the eDiscovery process.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding eDiscovery matters.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans for each stage of the EDRM.
  • Collaborate with clients and technology providers to utilize AI technology in the eDiscovery platform.
  • Implement custom workflows aimed at reducing client costs and accelerating speed-to-evidence.
  • Create and refine standard documentation, including ESI protocols, Protective Orders, review protocols, training guides, and review workflows.
  • Manage review teams, providing feedback and guidance to ensure industry-leading speed and accuracy.
  • Train and guide team leads to foster a collaborative team environment focused on problem-solving for clients and review teams.
  • Conduct interviews with IT personnel to develop and implement effective preservation strategies.
  • Negotiate ESI protocols and conduct custodial interviews.
  • Draft and test keyword searches to ensure comprehensive and relevant document reviews.
  • Oversee document review management in a law firm, in-house legal department, or consulting firm setting.
  • Adapt work schedule to support global client engagements across various time zones.
  • Solve complex problems with an analytical approach to provide optimal solutions to clients.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be actively licensed and in good standing with a State Bar.
  • Must possess the skills necessary to perform high-quality work and expand the scope of services offered.
  • Must have the ability and discretion to protect confidential Firm and client information from disclosure or misuse.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree required.
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree required.
  • Must be an active licensed lawyer in the US jurisdiction of residence.

 

Certifications:

Relevant certifications in eDiscovery or related fields are a plus.

 

Skills:

  • Extensive experience in all phases of the EDRM, including identification, preservation, collection, review, and production.
  • Strong experience in document review management at a law firm, in-house legal department, or consulting firm.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple fast-moving projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt work schedule to support global client engagements in various time zones.

 

Experience:

5-10 years of relevant experience in eDiscovery.
