Job Overview:
A law firm specializing in creditors' rights law is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join the North Carolina office. This position offers the opportunity to handle a variety of legal tasks related to litigation and collections. The ideal candidate will be able to independently manage a high volume of work while maintaining meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Location:

  • Charlotte, NC

Duties:

  • Assist in managing the North Carolina practice
  • Handle hearings and related legal matters in North Carolina
  • Monitor case progress and develop strategies for efficient resolution
  • Review all conditions precedent to filing actions, including documents, financials, notices, and demand letters
  • Draft and review pleadings and correspondence to initiate legal actions
  • Update internal systems with findings, documentation, and recommendations
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal foreclosure, bankruptcy, and collections requirements
  • Handle contested matters, including discovery and trials

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of litigation or collections experience
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a volume-based environment
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Bar membership in North Carolina

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD)

Certifications:

  • Bar membership in North Carolina (Required)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of legal experience (preferred)
  • Legal collections experience (preferred)

Skills:

  • Intermediate to advanced-level computer and office skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze corrective action opportunities and make recommendations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
