A law firm is seeking a motivated Bankruptcy Attorney to join its growing team in Cleveland, Ohio. This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives in high-responsibility environments and enjoys guiding individuals and businesses through challenging financial circumstances. The ideal candidate will bring not only technical proficiency in bankruptcy law but also a strong sense of purpose in client advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support clients in navigating complex financial distress scenarios, offering tailored legal solutions and representation.

  • Evaluate income, assets, liabilities, and other financial data to recommend viable debt relief strategies.

  • Prepare and file documentation, including bankruptcy petitions, schedules, disclosure statements, and repayment plans.

  • Represent clients at hearings, meetings of creditors, and courtroom proceedings before bankruptcy trustees and judges.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state bankruptcy regulations, with a focus on Chapters 7, 11, and 13.

  • Collaborate with paralegals, financial professionals, and client support teams to deliver end-to-end legal services.

  • Manage multiple case files with diligence, meeting all filing deadlines and ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the process.

Requirements

  • Must be actively licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio.

  • 1–6 years of professional experience handling bankruptcy matters.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage cases and appear in court or administrative hearings.

  • Familiarity with federal bankruptcy procedures, the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, and local court practices.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association.

  • Practical training or coursework in creditor-debtor relations or bankruptcy law preferred.
