A law firm in La Crosse, WI is seeking a dedicated Personal Injury Attorney to handle a variety of personal injury cases. The attorney will manage all aspects of casework, including negotiations, record review, depositions, hearings, and trials. The ideal candidate will be committed to advocating for injured clients and assisting them in their pursuit of justice and recovery. Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients through all phases of personal injury cases, from initial consultation to resolution or trial.

  • Engage in settlement negotiations with insurance companies and opposing counsel to secure fair compensation for clients.
  • Handle depositions, including preparation of witnesses, and manage discovery processes.
  • Draft and file legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
  • Represent clients at hearings and trials, presenting evidence and arguments effectively.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and legal advice.
  • Oversee client intake processes, strategize case development, and tailor legal approaches to individual needs.
  • Collaborate with medical experts, investigators, and other professionals to strengthen cases.
  • Keep case files accurate and up-to-date, meeting deadlines and legal requirements.
  • Contribute to firm-wide initiatives, fostering team development and client success.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be admitted to practice law in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, or North Dakota.
  • Personal injury law experience or related litigation experience preferred.
  • Ability to reliably commute to the office and travel locally to meet with clients.
  • Previous experience in a professional office environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills, including comfort with phone consultations and client interactions.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, or North Dakota.
