Job Overview: A law firm specializing in creditors' rights is seeking a highly skilled Associate Attorney to join their North Carolina office. Location:

Duties:

  • Assist in managing the North Carolina practice for creditors’ rights matters
  • Handle hearings and contested matters, including discovery and trials in the state of North Carolina
  • Monitor case progress and develop strategies to bring files to resolution effectively and efficiently
  • Review conditions precedent to filing actions, including financials, notices, and demand letters
  • Draft and review pleadings and correspondence to initiate actions
  • Ensure accurate updates are made to internal systems, including findings, documentation, and recommendations
  • Safeguard compliance with local, state, and federal foreclosure, bankruptcy, and collections requirements
  • Exhibit professionalism and confidentiality in all tasks and communications

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of litigation or collections experience
  • Strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume caseload
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Bar membership in North Carolina (required)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Bar membership in North Carolina (required)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of legal experience (preferred)
  • Legal collections experience (preferred)

Skills:

  • Intermediate to advanced computer and office skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze and present recommendations for corrective actions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
