Job Overview:
A well-established family law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Family Law Attorney to join its Alexandria, VA office. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in family law litigation, strong client management skills, and the desire to take on a leadership role. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow professionally while providing high-quality legal services to clients in the Virginia and DC metro areas.

Location:

Duties:

  • Provide exceptional representation to clients in family law matters.
  • Proactively manage assigned family law cases through all stages of representation.
  • Serve as co-counsel to senior attorneys on complex family law cases.
  • Ensure superior customer service by providing monthly status reports and bi-weekly reviews of cases to clients.
  • Offer recommendations for process improvements to partners and practice managers.
  • Take a leadership role in managing and mentoring junior attorneys and support staff.

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing with the Virginia State Bar.
  • Licensure in Maryland or the District of Columbia is a plus (not required).
  • 6-10 years of experience practicing family law, with a focus on litigation.
  • Proven ability to handle complex family law matters and cases.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage client relationships effectively and professionally.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the Virginia State Bar.
  • Additional Bar memberships (Maryland or D.C.) are a plus.
