Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Houston, TX seeks a seasoned legal professional with deep experience in real estate matters to support its growing portfolio of renewable energy and property development clients. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with a highly experienced legal team on cutting-edge energy and infrastructure projects. Duties:

  • Guide clients through real estate acquisitions, leasing, and property development matters

  • Draft and negotiate transactional documents, including purchase and sale agreements and site control instruments

  • Provide legal advice related to site acquisition, land use, and development for large-scale renewable energy projects

  • Collaborate with title companies and surveyors to resolve title insurance and survey-related issues

  • Interpret title commitments and negotiate curative solutions to address encumbrances or defects

  • Advise clients on regulatory and permitting considerations tied to utility-scale energy projects

  • Manage communication and relationships with internal stakeholders and external project teams

  • Participate in knowledge sharing and mentorship within the legal group

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of hands-on real estate law experience

  • Expertise in reviewing and resolving complex title issues

  • Strong background in utility-scale project transactions, ideally in renewable energy

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage real estate deals from initiation through closing

  • Experience with the negotiation of easements, leases, and development rights agreements

  • Ability to work across teams with a proactive, solution-oriented approach

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in the state of Texas

Skills:

  • High level of precision and attention to detail

  • Exceptional drafting and analytical abilities

  • Strategic thinking with practical implementation

  • Comfortable navigating interdisciplinary legal challenges

  • Proficient in legal research and document management
