Job Overview

A leading law firm is currently seeking an experienced International Employment Attorney to join its Employment Group. The position provides an excellent opportunity to engage in global and cross-border employment counseling. The successful candidate will handle a variety of employment law issues related to corporate transactions, employee terminations, restrictive covenants, and employee mobility. This role requires significant expertise in both domestic and international employment matters and offers the chance to collaborate with teams across multiple offices.

Duties

  • Conduct employment diligence and provide advice on employment aspects of corporate transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate employment, retention, and other related agreements.
  • Counsel clients on reductions in force, employee terminations, and workforce restructuring.
  • Draft restrictive covenants and provide strategic advice on employee mobility.
  • Advise emerging companies on various aspects of employment law.
  • Collaborate with legal teams across global offices, handling cross-border and international employment law matters.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in domestic and international employment law.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in employment counseling, with a focus on domestic and/or international matters.
  • Experience advising clients on employment issues related to corporate transactions and employee terminations.
  • Ability to draft and negotiate complex employment agreements.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with teams across multiple offices.
  • Flexible and open to learning new areas of employment law.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction where applying.

Skills

  • Strong expertise in international employment law and cross-border matters.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
  • In-depth understanding of corporate employment matters, including transactions and employee mobility.
  • Ability to provide strategic counsel to businesses of all sizes, including emerging companies.
