Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Business Associate to provide essential administrative and clerical support for litigation processes. Previous experience in litigation support is beneficial but not required, as comprehensive training will be provided.

Duties:

  • Assist in various legal administrative tasks, including document filing, brief preparation, and case file maintenance.
  • Transcribe legal documents and correspondence promptly and accurately.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of documents to ensure they meet legal standards.
  • Organize and maintain both physical and digital filing systems for easy retrieval.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as data entry, scanning, and photocopying of legal materials.
  • Use case management software to manage case processes.
  • Support litigation projects and assist in interpreting legal correspondence, pleadings, and notices.
  • Participate in goal-driven meetings.
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies as needed.

Requirements:

  • Strong typing skills (55 WPM or higher) and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and dependability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, court staff, and clients.
  • Self-motivated and quick to learn new processes.
  • Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable managing repetitive tasks and multitasking between multiple software programs.

Education:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, but not required.

Certifications:

  • No specific certifications required; paralegal certification is not mandatory.

Skills:

  • Proficient in using word processing, spreadsheets, and customer database systems.
  • Ability to follow state and client guidelines, regulations, and procedures.
  • Capable of working efficiently with multiple Excel sheets and toggling between various programs and tabs.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work accurately and collaboratively.
