Duties

  • Advise high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families on estate planning strategies.
  • Provide counsel on forming and administrating private trust companies and family offices.
  • Develop and implement business succession plans for family-owned businesses.
  • Create and execute charitable giving strategies, including establishing private foundations.
  • Draft complex estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
  • Collaborate with clients to assess their financial situations and develop comprehensive estate plans.
  • Work closely with clients’ financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to ensure cohesive and effective planning.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting personal and succession planning.
  • Represent clients in estate and trust litigation when necessary.
  • Participate in the firm’s business development initiatives and contribute to building client relationships.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in estate planning, private trust companies, family offices, business succession planning, and charitable giving strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional drafting skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing complex client needs and cases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
