Job Overview: A well-respected law firm is seeking a seasoned Environmental Litigation Counsel to join its Denver, CO office. This role is focused on environmental law and litigation in both state and federal courts, with opportunities for remote work. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in environmental litigation, specifically in handling complex cases involving toxic torts and environmental matters. This position requires a motivated attorney who is passionate about advocating for clients and delivering high-quality legal services.

Location:

  • Denver, Colorado

Duties:

  • Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to written discovery requests, taking and defending depositions, and analyzing complex documents.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs for complex litigation matters.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategy and argumentation.
  • Make court appearances as needed for hearings, motions, and trials.
  • Engage in case strategy discussions, offering innovative and strategic insights.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and team members throughout the litigation process.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and other legal professionals on case management and strategy.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in litigation, with a preference for environmental and toxic torts experience.
  • Proficiency in legal technology and software, including Adobe, Excel, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with E-Discovery tools (e.g., Sharefile, PACER, CaseAnywhere, Lexis, Smart Advocate, Everlaw, FileVine, OneLegal).
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects under tight deadlines.
