The ideal candidate will handle their own cases while collaborating with experienced attorneys on various civil matters. This role involves vigorous litigation, negotiating agreements, drafting contracts, settling claims, and advocating for clients in multiple Circuit, Family, and Magistrate Courts throughout Central West Virginia.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handle a caseload of civil matters independently and in collaboration with experienced attorneys.
  • Vigorously litigate cases and resolve legal disputes through negotiation, drafting, and settlement.
  • Advocate for clients in multiple Circuit, Family, and Magistrate Courts throughout Central West Virginia.
  • Appear in various courts, before government agencies, or in private transactions to represent clients.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and motions, on behalf of clients.
  • Advise clients on transactions, rights, and duties, providing clear and effective legal counsel.
  • Negotiate settlements for legal disputes, aiming for the best possible outcome for clients.
  • Perform administrative and case management tasks, ensuring timely and accurate case progress.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and provide high-quality legal services.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of West Virginia.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience, preferably with a focus on family law matters.
  • Strong litigation skills and the ability to manage cases independently.
