Job Overview:
A reputable civil litigation and professional liability defense firm is seeking an experienced Senior Associate Attorney for its Huntington Beach office. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on insurance defense, medical malpractice, and/or elder law. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to join a thriving firm and work on a dynamic team. A $5000 sign-on bonus is being offered for a limited time.

Location:

  • Huntington Beach, CA

Duties:

  • Independently manage a caseload alongside a partner
  • Conduct legal research using Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw, and other resources
  • Draft, review, and analyze legal documents including contracts, pleadings, and briefs
  • Handle discovery, analyze medical and employment records
  • Attend and manage court appearances, depositions, and client meetings
  • Communicate regularly with clients, providing status reports on cases
  • Provide support to the team on various legal matters, with a focus on medical malpractice, elder defense, and insurance defense

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in civil defense litigation, preferably with a focus on insurance defense, medical malpractice, and/or elder law
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of legal analysis and attention to detail
  • Experience handling depositions, court appearances, and client meetings
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of California

Education:

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school (preferred)

Certifications:

  • Active member of the California State Bar (Required)

Skills:

  • Strong oral advocacy and analytical skills
  • Excellent writing and communication abilities
  • Familiarity with insurance defense litigation and carrier billing/reporting guidelines
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
