Job Overview

A well-established immigration law firm is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney for its Providence, Rhode Island office. This role is ideal for a passionate advocate interested in representing clients in complex immigration matters, including removal defense, asylum claims, family-based petitions, and juvenile cases. Location

  • Providence, Rhode Island

Duties

  • Represent clients in Immigration Court and at USCIS field offices

  • Handle cases involving:

    • Removal defense

    • Asylum applications

    • Family-based immigration petitions

    • Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) in Family and Probate Courts

  • Prepare and file immigration applications and legal briefs

  • Conduct legal research for complex immigration matters

  • Draft motions, affidavits, and supporting documentation

  • Supervise work performed by paralegals and legal support staff

  • Maintain direct and ongoing communication with clients

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience practicing immigration law (preferred)

  • Admission to any state bar (Massachusetts or Rhode Island bar preferred)

  • Fluency in Spanish (spoken and written) is required

  • Strong interpersonal and client communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and handle a diverse caseload

  • Willingness to work occasional weekends as needed

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the United States

  • Admission in Rhode Island or Massachusetts is preferred

Skills

  • Strong legal research and writing skills

  • Fluency in Spanish required

  • Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
