Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with expertise in Insurance Coverage and Construction Litigation to join its team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in civil litigation, specifically within the areas of insurance coverage and construction law. This role requires a self-motivated individual capable of managing cases from start to finish, with a strong emphasis on client advocacy, oral and written communication, and team collaboration. The Associate Attorney will play a key role in providing leadership and working closely with support staff to achieve favorable results for clients.

Location:

  • Houston, TX

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload from start to finish, including case strategy, discovery, motions, and trial preparation
  • Provide expert legal counsel on insurance coverage matters and construction-related disputes
  • Represent clients in court, including making oral arguments, attending hearings, and participating in trials
  • Draft and review legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements
  • Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to efficiently move cases forward
  • Communicate regularly with clients, keeping them informed of case status and developments
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior attorneys and support staff
  • Identify and manage legal risks for clients in construction and insurance matters

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Insurance Coverage and Construction Litigation
  • Proven ability to manage complex civil litigation cases from start to finish
  • Strong oral advocacy skills with courtroom experience
  • Excellent legal writing skills with experience drafting motions, pleadings, and legal briefs
  • Active member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of Texas
