Job Overview:

A leading law firm is seeking a highly skilled mid/senior-level Finance Associate to join its New York office. Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients, including lenders and corporate borrowers, in a wide range of finance transactions, including commercial bank loans, alternative lender loans, and institutional term loans.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review loan agreements, security agreements, and other finance-related documents.
  • Provide legal guidance on structuring, documenting, and negotiating complex loan and credit facilities.
  • Advise clients on legal issues related to financing transactions, credit agreements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure successful transaction execution.
  • Manage client relationships and develop business opportunities.
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates and support staff.

Requirements:

  • 2-8 years of experience in finance law, with a focus on commercial bank loans, alternative lender loans, and institutional term loans.
  • Experience representing lenders or corporate borrowers in complex finance transactions.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure transactions and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent legal research, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and client-facing communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education:

  • JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the relevant state bar (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly).

Skills:

  • Expertise in commercial bank loans, alternative lender loans, and institutional term loans.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex transactions and work with clients directly.
  • Familiarity with finance regulations and compliance issues.
  • Client-focused approach with a track record of building relationships.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior associates.
