A well-established law firm in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its growing immigration practice. This is a valuable opportunity for a newly licensed or early-career attorney to gain hands-on experience in removal defense, family-based immigration, and USCIS proceedings. The role provides direct client engagement, courtroom exposure, and the chance to work alongside a knowledgeable legal team committed to professional development.

Duties

  • Represent detained and non-detained clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Conduct client intakes, including at detention centers

  • Explain immigration processes and provide strategic legal advice

  • Prepare and file immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions

  • Review and revise application packets to ensure accuracy and completeness

  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS interviews

  • Conduct consultations with prospective clients and assess legal options

  • Draft legal briefs, motions, and supporting documentation

  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community-based organizations to stay informed on immigration policy changes

  • Maintain organized case files and ensure deadlines are met

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in immigration law

  • Ability to handle a growing caseload under the supervision of senior attorneys

  • Willingness to collaborate with a legal team and assist across practice areas

  • Experience in family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, EOIR, detained matters, and naturalization

  • Familiarity with USCIS procedures and EOIR processes

  • Case management software experience preferred

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. state (in good standing)

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Oral advocacy and courtroom readiness

  • Detail-oriented and organized

  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus
