Associate Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its Pittsburgh, PA office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 0-2 years of experience in litigation, particularly in areas such as general liability, professional liability, healthcare, or labor and employment. Duties

• Represent clients in various stages of litigation, from case initiation to expert discovery, focusing on general liability matters.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct complex legal research and manage discovery processes.
• Draft a wide range of legal documents, including discovery requests and responses, motions, case summaries, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, legal memoranda, and more.
• Review discovery responses, and depositions, and prepare litigation update reports.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and communicate closely with clients to provide legal advice and case updates.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of litigation experience.
• Pennsylvania Bar membership (preferred; West Virginia Bar membership a plus).
• Experience in drafting motions and discovery requests.
• Strong organizational and writing skills with the ability to manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with Lexis legal research software.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Bar admission in Pennsylvania (required).
• West Virginia Bar admission (preferred).
