Municipal Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking a motivated Municipal Litigation Attorney with 3-4 years of litigation experience to join its Public Agency practice group. The ideal candidate will have a passion for litigation and a strong desire to grow as a litigator. While experience with municipal litigation is a plus, it is not required. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of cases involving public agencies and municipalities.

Location:

• Sacramento, CA 

Duties:

• Handle a range of litigation matters, particularly those related to public agencies and municipalities.
• Manage all aspects of case preparation, including pleadings, discovery, and motion practice.
• Draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, and administrative writs.
• Conduct legal research and provide analysis on various municipal litigation matters.
• Work on cases involving government claims, public contracting, and environmental law (CEQA).
• Represent clients in court and during administrative hearings.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and public agency clients to resolve legal disputes.

Requirements:

• 3-4 years of litigation experience.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent analytical and legal writing skills.
• Strong communication and client management abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple cases and prioritize workload efficiently.
• Passion for problem-solving and a commitment to professional growth.
• Experience with municipal litigation (such as administrative writs, government claims, and public contracting) is a plus but not required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar where the position is located (or eligibility for admission).
