Immigration Attorney

Location:

• Fresno, CA

Duties:

• Explain complex immigration concepts and offer strategic legal solutions
• Represent both detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
• Manage a caseload of immigration cases
• Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers
• Prepare and file various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions
• Review immigration applications and adjust as necessary to ensure compliance and completeness
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding changes in immigration law
• Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients to assess their cases and determine the best course of action
• Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances or USCIS testimony
• Provide legal analysis to identify potential case benefits and prepare legal briefs
• Stay updated on the latest developments in immigration law and regulations

Requirements:

• 1 to 4 years of experience in Immigration Law
• Proven ability to manage and move legal cases forward
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
• Experience in handling family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR proceedings, detained cases, citizenship matters, and other USCIS applications
• Experience with Case Management Software is preferred

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active bar admission (or pending for recent law school graduates)

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of immigration law and procedures
• Strong legal analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to manage a diverse and challenging caseload
• Proficiency in case management software (preferred)
