Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Real Estate Finance Associate to join its Los Angeles office. This position is ideal for a candidate with 3 to 7 years of experience in commercial real estate debt financing transactions. The firm offers an excellent opportunity to work on complex and high-profile matters in areas such as mortgage and mezzanine financing, preferred equity investments, loan participations, syndications, and restructurings. Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

  • Handle commercial real estate debt financing transactions, including mortgage and mezzanine financings.
  • Work on preferred equity investments, permanent and bridge loan originations, and construction loans.
  • Assist with loan participations, syndications (including loan sales), and co-lender/intercreditor arrangements.
  • Engage in workouts and restructurings in real estate finance matters.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and clients to manage complex real estate finance deals.
  • Draft and review legal documents related to real estate financing transactions.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 7 years of experience in commercial real estate finance.
  • Strong background in mortgage and mezzanine financings, preferred equity, and loan participations.
  • Familiarity with syndications, loan sales, and co-lender/intercreditor arrangements.
  • Experience in workouts and restructurings.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar (required).

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage complex legal transactions.
