A law firm in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking a Banking and Financial Institutions Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the financial services industry, exceptional analytical and communication skills, and experience in handling regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters. This role involves drafting and reviewing legal documents, conducting due diligence, and providing legal advice on a variety of financial and regulatory issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters related to the financial services industry.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including vendor contracts, definitive agreements for mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, asset transactions, and debt and equity transactions.
  • Assist in due diligence for financial services transactions, including reviewing and analyzing relevant documentation and information.
  • Provide legal advice and support to clients on regulatory and compliance issues, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to structure strategic transactions.
  • Represent clients in structuring and negotiating strategic transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial laws and regulations that may affect clients' interests and provide guidance accordingly.
  • Draft and review corporate documents, such as board resolutions, bylaws, and internal policies.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Wisconsin State Bar or eligibility for admission by waiver.
  • Strong interest in the financial services industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Strong drafting and reviewing skills for legal documents.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with clients and internal teams.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Wisconsin State Bar or eligibility for admission by waiver.
