Duties

  • Provide legal counsel on immigration matters and develop strategic solutions for clients.

  • Represent both detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.

  • Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely and effective case progression.

  • Conduct in-person intakes and legal consultations at detention centers.

  • Prepare and submit various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.

  • Review and refine immigration application packets to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Engage with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations on immigration law developments.

  • Conduct client consultations to assess legal strategies and available options.

  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court proceedings and USCIS interviews.

  • Draft legal briefs and provide thorough case analysis to support client representation.

Requirements

  • 1 to 4 years of experience practicing immigration law.

  • Strong case management skills, with the ability to independently handle a caseload.

  • Team-oriented mindset, with a willingness to collaborate with fellow attorneys and legal staff.

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal and client communication skills.

  • Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, EOIR, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other USCIS matters.

  • Familiarity with case management software is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Active membership in a state bar with good standing.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the United States.

  • Immigration law certifications or specialized training is beneficial but not required.
