A distinguished law firm is currently seeking a Senior Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation Attorney to join its leading patent and trade secrets litigation practice in San Francisco. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced litigator with a passion for high-stakes, complex technology disputes. The ideal candidate will be someone who thrives in trial environments, possesses strong patent litigation experience, and is eager to take on leadership roles in significant IP cases.

Duties:

• Led and managed patent and trade secrets litigation cases from pretrial to trial, including case strategy, motions, and depositions
• Draft and argue substantive motions in court
• Take and defend depositions of key witnesses
• Participate in trial preparation, including witness coaching, pretrial arguments, and strategic planning
• Collaborate with a talented team of litigators, providing mentorship and guidance to junior associates
• Contribute to business development efforts, building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Act as a strategic partner to clients, offering innovative legal solutions

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8+ years of trial-focused litigation experience, specifically in patent law
• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree
• Strong understanding of substantive patent law and litigation strategies
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage cases and teams effectively
• Business development acumen and the ability to drive client relationships
• Undergraduate degree in engineering, chemistry, biology, or computer science is highly valued, but not mandatory

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Bar in CA.

• Extensive experience in patent litigation, particularly in high-stakes, complex cases
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present compelling arguments in court
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
