Job Overview:
A dynamic and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Health Care Associate Attorney to join its thriving Health Care practice. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in Medicare and Medicaid compliance and reimbursement, particularly in relation to health care providers such as hospitals, health care systems, and managed care plans. Location:

  • Chicago, IL

Duties:

  • Advise health care clients on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, compliance issues, supplemental payment programs, value-based purchasing models, and alternative payment arrangements.
  • Counsel clients, including providers and health plans, on Medicare and Medicaid managed care regulatory compliance and contracting matters.
  • Stay updated on federal and state legislative, regulatory, and policy developments in the health care space.
  • Provide strategic advice on business transactions, regulatory compliance, and operational issues in health care.
  • Assist with the investigation of compliance issues, fraud, waste, or abuse allegations within the health care sector.
  • Provide guidance on physician contracting, HIPAA compliance, accountable care organizations, and corporate governance and tax exemption matters.
  • Work closely with senior associates and partners to deliver high-quality legal solutions to clients.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of regulatory, contracting, or reimbursement experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Experience working with health care providers, health systems, or managed care plans on Medicare, Medicaid, and related health care regulatory issues is preferred.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to clients.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state corresponding to the office location.
  • Must be in good standing with the state bar.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, reimbursement, and compliance.
  • Familiarity with health care managed care contracts, regulatory compliance, and business transactions.
  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and provide legal counsel on complex health care matters.
