Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage various construction litigation matters, including pre-suit investigation, filing of complaints, and ongoing case management.
  • Draft and file legal documents such as motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Perform a thorough analysis of construction contracts and subcontracts to support case strategies.
  • Prepare for and attend key case events such as depositions, hearings, and case management conferences.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely progress of cases.
  • Develop and maintain case timelines, ensuring all deadlines are met while managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to strategize on complex legal matters and case resolutions.
  • Participate in firm training programs and professional development initiatives to enhance expertise in construction law.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in construction litigation or a related field.
  • Proven experience in drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, subcontracts, and industry-specific legal regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a detail-oriented approach to case preparation and document review.

Educational and Certification Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Florida Bar (or eligibility to become a member).
