Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review new cases and develop action plans, budget outlines, and strategic recommendations.
• Assess pleading requirements and coordinate tasks with paralegals as needed.
• Prepare discovery responses, manage document production, and ensure compliance with deadlines.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing comprehensive reports to the team.
• Lead settlement negotiations, secure authority, and prepare for potential trial proceedings.
• Maintain consistent communication with paralegals, legal assistants, and other staff.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense.
• Licensed to practice law in North Carolina.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new systems.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in North Carolina.

Skills:

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient in legal research, writing, and document management.
• Strong negotiation and settlement skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
