A law firm located in Woodbury is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. The ideal candidate will focus on the enforcement of loan documents, foreclosures, evictions, bankruptcies, and various aspects of state and federal court litigation. The candidate should have experience working with financial institutions, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to manage a large, multi-faceted, and fast-paced workload.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle litigation related to the enforcement of loan documents, including drafting and filing complaints, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in foreclosure actions, evictions, and bankruptcy proceedings in state and federal courts.
  • Manage and oversee cases from inception through resolution, including discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to financial institutions on enforcement actions, collections, and related matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and client advice.
  • Prepare and present oral arguments and written briefs in court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to address complex legal issues and develop effective litigation strategies.
  • Stay informed about developments in civil and commercial litigation, bankruptcy law, and relevant case law.

Requirements:

  • Degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the State of Minnesota.
  • Prior experience working with financial institutions on enforcement of loan documents, foreclosure, collections, landlord/tenant matters, and civil and commercial litigation.
  • Experience in both state and federal courts, as well as bankruptcy courts, is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a large and complex caseload effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of Minnesota.

Skills:

  • Expertise in enforcement of loan documents, foreclosure, evictions, and bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Strong litigation skills, including experience with drafting and arguing motions, handling discovery, and preparing for trial.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
