Job Overview:
A prominent law firm seeks a skilled IP Litigation Associate Attorney to join its dynamic IP Litigation team. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with strong litigation experience in intellectual property matters. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing complex IP cases and collaborating with experts, witnesses, and clients. Duties:

  • Manage a portfolio of IP litigation cases, including patent disputes, from inception to resolution.
  • Prepare and argue motions, and manage discovery processes, depositions, and expert witnesses.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and coordinate trial preparations.
  • Engage in PTAB and trial proceedings, representing clients in hearings and before regulatory bodies.
  • Supervise junior associates, paralegals, and support staff.
  • Draft clear and persuasive legal briefs, opinions, and reports.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and strategic advice.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in IP litigation, with a focus on patent prosecution and litigation.
  • Proven ability to handle complex case management and legal strategy.
  • Experience with PTAB and trial proceedings.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor junior team members.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Licensed to practice law in Virginia or eligibility to become licensed.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admittance to the USPTO is preferred but not required.
  • Active membership in the Virginia Bar or the ability to obtain licensure in Virginia promptly.

  • Strong litigation skills, including drafting legal documents and conducting depositions.
