The role involves gathering medical records, taking depositions, and conducting discovery. The ideal candidate will be a Mississippi-licensed attorney with experience in either insurance defense or workers' compensation law, with preference given to those with experience in both areas. Excellent computer skills and a record of passing the bar exam on the first attempt are required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage personal injury cases from inception to resolution, including all aspects of case preparation and litigation.
  • Gather and review medical records, evidence, and other documentation relevant to personal injury claims.
  • Take depositions, conduct discovery, and handle pre-trial motions and hearings.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to effectively represent clients' interests in personal injury matters.
  • Negotiate settlements and provide strategic legal advice to clients.
  • Prepare and file necessary legal documents, including complaints, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Collaborate with medical experts, clients, and other legal professionals to build strong cases.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and ensure compliance with procedural deadlines.

Requirements

  • Experience in either insurance defense or workers' compensation law is required; experience in both areas is preferred.
  • Mississippi Bar license and in good standing.
  • Must have passed the bar exam on the first attempt.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with legal research and case management software.
