Job Overview
An established law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Partner-level Litigation Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will bring a portable book of business with at least $200,000 in collections and a strong leadership acumen. This role offers the opportunity to handle complex litigation cases from inception through trial, contributing significantly to the firm’s growth and reputation.

Duties

  • Handle complex litigation matters from inception through trial, including drafting discovery pleadings, motions, and arguing dispositive motions.
  • Participate in client intake, trial preparation, and all professional activities associated with case management.
  • Serve as first or second chair during trials.
  • Formulate case strategies, advise clients on risk mitigation, and suggest pre-suit resolution options.
  • Conduct client and witness interviews and oversee other case details.
  • Manage the discovery process and supervise junior attorneys and staff on document review projects.
  • Participate in mediation, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Perform complex legal research using tools such as Westlaw.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years of litigation experience in state and federal courts.
  • First or second chair trial experience is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage litigation cases independently, from inception through trial.
  • Extensive experience drafting pleadings, motions, and handling discovery-related matters.
  • Experience advising clients on case strategy and risk mitigation.
  • Knowledge and experience with mediation and arbitration procedures.
  • Strong legal research skills, particularly with tools such as Westlaw.
  • Ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Must be licensed to practice and in good standing in Tennessee.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Tennessee and in good standing
