Job Overview

A well-established litigation law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its asbestos practice group. This role involves handling complex civil matters, particularly in the areas of toxic tort, product liability, and environmental litigation. The position is available on a hybrid or fully remote basis, providing flexibility to support clients throughout the New England states.

Location

  • Boston, MA

Duties

  • Manage a litigation caseload for local and national accounts in New England, including Maine
  • Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for both deposition and trial
  • Review and analyze discovery requests and prepare responses
  • Draft and file pleadings, discovery responses, and other court documents, including e-filing
  • Prepare for trial, including document preparation and client support
  • Maintain accurate time records and manage case deadlines effectively

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in complex litigation, toxic tort, or environmental liability
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases
  • Experience with motion practice and depositions, including plaintiff and expert depositions
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the Bar in Maine required; admission in additional New England states preferred

  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating complex legal issues
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work efficiently
