A law firm seeks an experienced Trial Attorney to join its growing practice in Philadelphia, PA, specializing in personal injury and sexual assault cases. The ideal candidate will handle complex cases from the pre-litigation phase through trial, advocating for victims of sexual assault with compassion and professionalism. Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of sexual assault cases from intake to resolution.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, gather relevant evidence, and develop comprehensive case strategies.
  • Collaborate with support staff, paralegals, and attorneys to ensure full case preparation.
  • Provide compassionate representation for survivors of sexual assault, maintaining regular communication and support.
  • Represent clients in court, including pre-trial motions, depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Develop persuasive legal arguments and effectively examine and cross-examine witnesses.
  • Negotiate settlements when appropriate, always prioritizing the client’s best interests.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research to support case strategies and trial preparations.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and support staff within the firm.
  • Stay informed on evolving laws, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to sexual assault cases.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and in good standing (required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of trial litigation experience, with a focus on sexual assault or personal injury cases.
  • Strong trial advocacy skills with a successful track record in court.
  • Exceptional legal drafting, research, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Compassionate demeanor suitable for interacting with trauma survivors.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle complex, high-stakes cases.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
  • Admission to practice in additional states is a plus but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Pennsylvania Bar License (required).
