Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney

A law firm in Orange, CA, is seeking an Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will report to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney and manage a caseload, handle client interactions, and collaborate with our team of attorneys and legal assistants. This role involves advising clients on their legal rights, drawing up legal documents, attending pretrial hearings, and performing legal research.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload, including all aspects of client interaction and case management.
• Collaborate with the Criminal Defense Team, including attorneys and legal assistants.
• Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up relevant legal documents.
• Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide strategic advice following each hearing.
• Manage court appearances, trials, draft motions, interview witnesses, and perform legal research.
• Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.
• Provide legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefits.
• Accumulate additional evidence to support clients' cases or counter prosecution charges.
• Prepare clients for depositions and gather information from witnesses and experts to support clients' positions.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated interest in Criminal Defense law through law school clinics, volunteer work, or internship experience.
• Juris Doctorate degree.
• Active Bar admission (candidates awaiting admission will also be considered).
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Skills:

• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Case Management Software preferred.

Education:

Juris Doctorate degree.

Certifications:

Active Bar admission (law graduates awaiting admission will also be considered).
